I've researched, evaluated, as well as created my own ESL courses, course packs, activities, assignments, and assessments for my university courses to ensure that my students gain the skills, practice, and confidence needed for success.
The best part about my career as a teacher is that I'm able to combine all my education & training, together with my personal and professional experiences, to design lessons for my students that will help not only with language development, but also with sharing what I've learned in life to help others.
Leadership
Leadership Roles
- Mentored my teaching assistants and teachers-in-training in preparing and executing their practicum courses.
- Mentored and prepared my students to volunteer in our local community through fundraising activities, raising awareness of local issues on campus, and one-to-one attention with elementary school students.
- Mentored and advised my students in university leadership programs toward successful community service-learning projects.
- Mentored and advised a student-led club that fosters language and cultural exchange on the best second-language teaching practices.
- Volunteered to lead, research, and coordinate a community engagement activities with local nonprofit organizations to engage my local alumni during our annual day of service.
